Scoil Naomh Bríd :)
So, I have recently started my second work experience in my local primary school...Scoil Naomh Bríd. It felt a little weird going to the school to work as I used to be a pupil there! I was put with a junior infant class to help out in the classroom for the duration of the six weeks. It's really good fun helping out with the little kids and it makes it that much better that they're all so adorable!! Last week, the children were making rice krispie cakes so i got to help them! I even got to eat the leftovers afterwards!! :P

Last days are always sad :(
"Ends are not bad things, they just mean that something else is about to begin" - C. JoyBell C.
So sadly last week was my final week doing work experience in Excel Gymnastics Club. It's hard to believe that it's been eight weeks already since I started! I loved doing work experience in Excel and I'm really going to miss it a lot. I'm especially going to miss all the coaches and staff that were so kind to me during my work experience. They all played a huge part in making it such an enjoyable few weeks.
Maybe when I'm sixteen I'll take the coaching course and who knows... I might be back to the gym!
I'm looking forward to trying something completely different in a primary school for my next term of work experience.

The Weeks Are Flying By!
"Life grants nothing to us mortals without hard work"- Horace
Wow! Work experience is flying by so fast!! I only have two more weeks left in Excel Gymnastics Club :( I've met loads of lovely people and I've really loved spending time working in the gym.
This week I got to spend some time working with the dyspraxia class. It was great to be able to help them to have fun and enjoy themselves. The kids really liked having someone new to talk to.
I've also been given the chance to watch the rhythmic gymnasts prepare for their upcoming competitions. It's great to be able to compare the differences between artistic and rhythmic gymnastics.

Day Two :)
Day two of work experience was by far a lot more enjoyable than last week. On my first day I was quite nervous and didn't really know anyone that worked there. This week was a lot more enjoyable!! I'm starting to get used to the routine and the people and I don't feel as awkward as I did last week which is an improvement. :)
I'm gradually learning a lot more about coaching gymnastics and working in the gym. yesterday I also got the chance to learn some administrative skills by helping out in the office.
I did pretty much the same thing in the gym as last week when it comes to routine. First the Tiny Tots come in and I have to help with the warm up. The kids are so funny doing the warm up and they just love copying everything the coaches do. Then I helped with the obstacle course... this was so much fun because the little kids love to try and show off to me.
After the Tiny Tots went home the routine changed a little and I got to help out with two coaches that I had never met before. They were both really nice and I really enjoyed spending time with them. Their names are Nadia and Aoife. It turns out that a girl that was in my year last year is actually Nadias daughter!

The World of Work- Day 1
Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life -Confucius

My first day of work experience is complete! This week I started work experience in Excel Gymnastics Club. I was in from half two until half seven which wasn't bad considering I didn't have to get up early! I really enjoyed the day as a whole. I got the chance to help with the children that had gymnastics class. I started with the younger kids which was good fun. When the younger children went home, the older more advanced students came in. I observed for a while as they were warming up and I have to say I was really impressed at their level of gymnastics! They were great!!!
I then got the chance to help out and watch the coaches during training. I learned a few things about coaching and hopefully over the next few weeks I will learn a lot more. If I learn enough over the next few weeks I might even be able to take a course on coaching in February. That should be fun! Anyway.. I had a great time and I can't wait until next week!!!
